In God We Trust

The phrase "In God We Trust" has been the National Motto of the United States since 1956. the Senate reaffirmed it as the National Motto in 2006. The House of Representatives reaffirmed it in 2011. It appears on all U.S. coins that have been minted since 1938 and on all paper currency since 1957.

It is a phrase that should be engraved above the entrances of all of our schools.

The recent tragedy in Newtown, CT has started a major campaign by the news media and the politicians to create more gun laws as a solution to the problem, instead of focusing on the real cause of this tragedy. The real problem is the loss of morality in this county, and the cheapening of the value of life.

In the 1960's we took prayer out of our schools and only have a National "moment of silence" when we have a tragedy like Newtown.

In 1973 we legalized abortions. We now perform more than 2,000 per day. It is now the end of January, 65,376 Americans were murdered this month but there is no mention of it in the news media.

We have lost the focus of how precious life is.

The outcry of the media has been Newtown was a massacre that killed 20 children and 6 adults, and play up the loss of the potential the children will never achieve. They don't mention anything about the massacre of 2000 unborn babies each day taking place in this country and the potential these children would have if they were allowed to be born.

We all need to start each day with a prayer like: Dear God, Thank you for another day, please guide and protect us as we go about our tasks.
